Sicily Fashion Week 2026: businesses and Made in Sicily stories take centre stage
Sicily Fashion Week 2026: businesses, talent and Made in Sicily at the centre of the new edition
In Palermo, Sicily Fashion Week 2026 has been officially presented, the event promoted and organised by Confartigianato Imprese Sicilia and dedicated to artisan fashion, creativity and the production excellence of the Island.
A project now in its third edition and grown year after year, with an ever clearer goal: to go beyond celebrating Made in Sicily on the catwalk and create concrete opportunities for growth, visibility and internationalisation for Sicilian fashion businesses.
The presentation press conference brought together organisers, institutions, partners and industry professionals to describe the programme and, above all, the vision that will guide this new edition.
Fashion, but above all business
The relationship between creativity and economic development is one of the central points of the project.
As stressed by the president of Confartigianato Imprese Sicilia, Emanuele Alessandro Virzì, Sicilian artisan fashion is not only an extraordinary manufacturing tradition but a sector able to innovate, compete and open up to international markets.
For three years Confartigianato has invested in Sicily Fashion Week with the aim of creating real opportunities for meetings between designers, producers, young talents and buyers, turning the quality of Sicilian production into commercial opportunities, relationships and new export paths.
A vision also backed by the numbers: in Sicily there are 1,873 fashion businesses, of which 1,013 artisan ones, equal to 54% of the total. Palermo leads the regional ranking with 280 artisan businesses, while the female component is particularly significant: almost six in ten artisan businesses in textiles, clothing and leather are led by women.
An increasingly international edition
Sicily Fashion Week 2026 will feature about twenty Sicilian brands, together with buyers and operators from Italy and abroad.
The event's positioning is further strengthened by collaborations with some important players in the fashion system, including White Milano, Si Sposa Italia, Milano Fashion & Jewels, Elle Spose, ITA (Italian Trade Agency) and Rinascente Palermo.
A network that lets the event go beyond its own scale and become a tool for relations between Sicilian businesses and the market.
Artistic director Luca Lo Bosco also noted that the 2026 edition marks a further step up in quality, starting with the selection of the companies themselves and greater attention to their ability to present themselves professionally to buyers and the market. A path that increasingly links craftsmanship, identity and competitiveness.
TALIA: telling the story of the event starting from the companies
Also speaking at the conference was Giuseppe Gurrieri, founder of TALIA, whose agency has been reconfirmed by Confartigianato Imprese Sicilia for production, communication and organisation of the events related to Sicily Fashion Week.
Gurrieri retraced the start of the 2026 project, which began with the first presentation event at the Tonnara Bordonaro, and previewed one of the main elements that will characterise the communication work of this edition.
This year, in fact, the companies will be even more at the centre of the story.
Not only catwalks, clothes, events and images of the event, but the people who make all this possible: designers, entrepreneurs, artisans and professionals who build their businesses every day and contribute to the growth of the Sicilian fashion system.
Behind every brand there are often beautiful stories: family paths, traditions handed down over time, businesses built from scratch, entrepreneurial intuitions, research, sacrifices and the ability to innovate.
TALIA's communication work will start from here.
The aim will be to place alongside the story of Sicily Fashion Week that of its protagonists, showing what happens before the catwalk: how a company is born, how a collection is built, what skills are needed, what difficulties are faced and what vision guides those who choose to start a business in fashion from Sicily.
A choice that makes communication an integral part of the project to promote the businesses.
Room for the new generation too
The growth of Sicily Fashion Week also depends on training.
The Contest Giovani Talenti, for emerging designers, is scheduled for 23 June at Rinascente Palermo. The best will go through to the Fashion Show and so have the chance to share the catwalk with established designers and companies.
An event that, according to Flavia Pinello, president of Confartigianato Moda Sicilia, should serve not only to spot new talent but above all to bring young people closer to how the sector really works and support them in their professional growth.
From the Fashion Show to the buyer meetings
The heart of the event will be the Fashion Show on 26 June at Villa Alliata Cardillo, with about twenty Sicilian brands, 50 models and a major production and organisational machine working behind the scenes.
The evening, hosted by Eliana Chiavetta, will start with a welcome cocktail at 7 pm, followed by the show at 9 pm and the after party.
On 27 June, in the Sala Belvedere of the Palermo and Enna Chamber of Commerce, it will instead be the turn of the B2B meetings between businesses and buyers, designed to generate commercial contacts and new opportunities on national and international markets.
The official programme ends on 28 June with the Experience Tour Palermo, a final moment dedicated to the relationship between fashion, culture and the identity of the area.
A Fashion Week that wants to generate value
Sicily Fashion Week thus continues its path of growth, increasingly becoming a platform where fashion, craftsmanship, business, training and internationalisation speak to one another.
The catwalk remains one of the most spectacular moments of the project, but it is not the end point.
Behind it are companies to make known, young people to support, markets to reach and relationships to build.
And it is precisely from these stories that the telling of Sicily Fashion Week 2026 begins.
